Nougat 28

How are you doing? Ever had an Elijah day? Where despite all the triumphs of yesterday, today you wonder whether this “Faith” is for real? Or, having heard of what’s happening in the news like the retributive killings in Toronto/Jamaica/you name it… you question where God is; or worse yet having seen Him die and knowing the finality of death, you question whether Jesus rose? That’s an Elijah day, and according to today’s Holy Nougat, even Jesus’ closest had those moments.

“When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted!” Matthew 28:17 NLT

So

In light of this Nougat, where does one go from here?

First things first – we recognize that upon seeing Jesus, the disciples worshipped. And I’m with you, that wasn’t their response when alone in the Upper Room. When we’re out of options and hope, worship may be the last thing on the mind. Especially since most of us can’t feel or see Jesus like those disciples did back in the day anyway. But, we know Him. And in that moment of doubtful praise, we can be honest enough to say, “Lord, I’m having doubts, but I’m going to worship.” Having been there a few times, I guarantee that when we keep at it, our outlook shifts and we will begin to ‘see’ Jesus.

So did Elijah. Some of the disciples did too!

Having worshipped; we listen.

Yup

Just that.

And if we hear nothing, we up the praise. And check to ensure there’s no blockage – earthquakes, floods or tornadoes – getting in the way of the Voice.

So Elijah day or not, let’s get our praise up and running…
