Hi there

Have you ever had an “Ouch moment” while reflecting on God’s Word, or upon having it explained to you?

Consider today’s Holy Nougat™

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1 NLT

One of my close sister-friends was sharing with me about a Bible study she attended. The conversation went just fine until she actually shared an insight revealed/received from the study passage, Romans 8.1 …

No Condemnation refers as much to the Lord deflecting condemnation as it does to our restraint in condemning others. Ouch. Major Ouch! And then I received additional clarification from the Lord, which I offer to us now:

No Condemnation for those in Christ means I might need to clean my vocabulary from dirty words (which tear down or destroy) to engaging and uplifting words. It might be the difference in how someone understands the Word who dwells in us.

No condemnation also requires a shift in outlook, from one which sees the down side of a situation, to the wonderful possibilities which God has laid out for me and others.

No Condemnation offers the opportunity to Speak Life; by affirming others (especially those who don’t seem to deserve it).

No Condemnation doesn’t baptise sin, but it sees the humanity behind an act, remembering that we’re ALL sinners saved by/in need of God’s grace.

No Condemnation is a life of prayer for those who hurt – us, others, themselves, ourselves – speaking Life and Truth in potentially death-dealing situations.

And no condemnation also invites the company of like-minded individuals. This increases our desire to retain the attitude of No Condemnation.

No Condemnation … A full-time occupation in Christ if we have the mind.

So let’s invite God to renew our lives, minds and hearts in such a manner that we do not invite condemnation to ourselves because we have been guilty of condemning others.

Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast.

In Christ
