During the temptations, Jesus denied the devil the joy of forcing Jesus to prove Himself. He knew God’s Word. And today’s Nougat vindicated Him. Isn’t it ironic that the angels did for Jesus EXACTLY WHAT the devil had promised!? (See the verses above) Jesus’s decision confirms that our decisions made in tandem with God’s timing and purpose are guaranteed results.
I remember establishing several timelines for my life and finally realizing that timelines crafted by myself – which were not in line with God’s plan (no consultation had taken place, I had randomly selected dates) – were not going to result in God’s purpose being fulfilled for me.
Not a fun lesson. But in waiting upon God, spending time to confirm that what I seek to do aligns with God’s NOW plan for my life; oh what bliss!!!! It was as though angels came ministering to me. Knowing the Word is important. Internalizing the Word is equally important.
But Knowing the One who inspired the preservation of the Word, who honors the Word above their very Name is ABSOLUTELY VITAL.
For then, it amounts to God’s timing, not ours.
New year’s resolutions looming on the horizon … Check in with God first, commit the plan to God’s timing and watch God work!
