Are you remotely disturbed by all the stuff that’s going on in the world. End time prophecies notwithstanding, it’s somewhat disconcerting to realize that for all that Jamaica is the wickedest place in the world (overall crime, violence, murder, gender based violence etc) there’s so many different acts of wickedness going on that home seems safe regardless of where home is.
Here’s today’s nougat
Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing.” And they divided up his clothes by casting lots. Like 23.34
In the midst of betrayal, beatings and bloodshed; He had one response. “Father, forgive.” And while he forgave n they fought over his clothing.
Abused, betrayed or conspired against, do we have any other response? Not to stay in the situation, but to recognize that it’s not multiple choice – we MUST forgive. And then do battle on our knees.
Lord in your mercy, Help us to forgive those who threaten our security, whether family abusers or suicide bombers. In Jesus’s name. Amen
