Disease, destruction and dismay have been the news headlines recently. And if we are inattentive, we might get caught up in that cycle, forgetting our mandate to boastful in the Lord. Perhaps today’s Holy Nougat might shift our perspective

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Though it may try, that which attempts to obliterate God’s glory CANNOT ever overthrow God. Not the thoughts warring for dominance in our mind, not the evil practices we adopt; not disasters – natural or human-generated – nope; it’s impossible for them to overcome the glory of God

That’s powerful

Especially in a world of mutant viruses, ongoing conflicts globally and hate speech. It’s a privilege and a pleasure to have the assurance that, regardless of the Appearances of doom, gloom and destruction around us; God not only keeps us, but effects justice.

And no, God’s justice is not always visible to us; or exacted immediately – we all are still around – but God’s justice is sure. With scope for repentance and restoration via the Cross, we have a Living hope! The assurance that it is well.

So what’s our response – basking in and sharing with others the peace which overcame despair and injustice; or succumbing to the wave of negativity which is hovering around?

Might today be the day we boast of God’s justice?
