Nougat 27

Hello

Thanks for staying the course. We are finally at Day 7; and we are anticipating God to move mightily. Are we ready to destroy the strongholds in our lives? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“Seven priests will walk ahead of the Ark, each carrying a ram’s horn. On the seventh day you are to march around the town seven times, with the priests blowing the horns. When you hear the priests give one long blast on the rams’ horns, have all the people shout as loud as they can. Then the walls of the town will collapse, and the people can charge straight into the town.”” Joshua‬ ‭6:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Seven days.

Seven priests.

Seven horns.

Seven times around Jericho on the seventh day!

On the seventh time …

One GREAT shout in praise and of victory

It could be a bit of exhilaration also; if it is, go right ahead.

Historically, there is evidence of a real earthquake having razed Jericho in that era. They don’t agree with the dates; but think it’s a story borrowed from nearby communities. Does it really matter? As a historian; yes. As a person of faith – only if it now challenges us in our ability to believe God for the impossible. And in that case; not even history is enough to aid us in our faith crisis(dilemma).

With that, let’s consider nuts and bolts. For the first six times around, we do as we have done before: we go around the stronghold IN Silence.

Not a word out loud.

(If there is a physical object, consider going around it; otherwise, we ‘see’ ourselves going around)

By the seventh trip; the sound is likely to burst forth, as though of its own volition.

If that happens before seven trips – please contain it; then give full blast to the praise that’s bubbling out.

If nothing happens naturally – as in that praise song doesn’t bubble on its own – not to worry. Shout out that frustration and praise past the burden. Invest the shout as a way of claiming Victory in the power of God.

Remember shout all the way around the stronghold – as loud as is possible in your context – and allow God to do the rest.

Having overcome the stronghold; remember

DO NOT return to take it up again. For that is its own problem. Fill the space with praise.

May God’s mercy and victory be our own as we demolish strongholds and imaginations that seek to keep us bound.
