Blessings to you

Many of us are back in face to face worship mode, others are still stuck with social media worship. While both have their merits; we may still need to examine our hearts. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“When they saw him, they bowed down in worship, though some had doubts.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:17‬ ‭GW‬‬

… though some had doubts -Why?! It was Jesus. Their rabbi, their mentor for three years, their Messiah, their friend. What was there to doubt?

Perhaps, since Matthew’s gospel clearly condensed the multiple visits, it was referring to Thomas’ angst at being absent to see the resurrected Christ. But while likely, Thomas was only one person, and we’re told ‘some’.

Moreover, they all chose to accept Jesus’ invitation to meet Him on one of Galilee’s mountains. Is it that they went, to prove the women wrong, only to discover that there was a semblance of truth – a man awaited, but was it Jesus?

Ultimately we each have to make that decision for ourselves – doubts and all notwithstanding. When faced with the immediate, impossible, improbable, impractical and the immortal, which necessitates Christ’s intervention, how will we respond?

Will we bow down in worship, recognizing that ONLY God can turn things around? or do we harbor little doubts, inserting our contingency plan in the mix? For that is the crux of the matter for us in this time – do we truly trust God’s power?

I can’t answer for anyone but myself; and even then it’s not what I say but what I live. It’s easy to bow down; ie be in the posture of worship. What God desires also is our trust – worship in Spirit and Truth.
