Nougat 27

I had an interesting experience that spurred me to share with you. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“The five who were foolish didn’t take enough olive oil for their lamps,” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So last night I had internet trouble, so I decided to leave my phone alone. Given that it was almost at 50%, it made lots of sense to simply go to sleep and arise in time to prepare the nougat. Imagine my utter and total surprise to find that the battery was on the blink – ie below the red zone! Last night, I was so tired, I did not have the drive to place the phone on the charger, and this morning, sure enough, Nothing!

So it is with many of us

We keep going and going, and because it seems like all is well, we don’t go in search of Our Charger. We assume we have enough power on our own to make it through. The problem is, just because we have no major movement or crises in our lives for a season, it doesn’t mean all is safe and well.

Siblings in Faith, WE MUST STAY PLUGGED IN TO GODS SPIRIT For without that connection to God, when our lamp is low and we have no reserves, rest assured – we will not be equipped for the plans of the enemy. If Jesus was tempted by the devil during and after His forty-day fast(see Luke 4); there’s no doubt that the devil will come at us mere mortals at any point.

Remember, the devil is described as a roaring lion seeking whomever to devour see (1 Peter 5:8). One common tactic of lions on the prowl is to separate the weakest animal from the flock. When we fail to top up spiritually, we have offered ourselves as prey to the devourer.

Let’s not allow ourselves to become too busy, too harried, or too lax that when we need to move with God’s Spirit, we are low. We must make time to (re)connect regularly, so our lamps are filled and ready whether or not Our Bridegroom appears unexpectedly.

And please, Please, PLEASE – Don’t assume all is well.
