Nougat 27
I love it when products come with manufacturers’ warranty. Though sometimes sketchy, it offers the user free returns or repair for a particular search. Of course, there are those whose product dies shortly after the warranty expires, but even then; when I know that there’s product-review, I check that and make a decision. Today’s Holy Nougat
““O Sovereign Lord! You made the heavens and earth by your strong hand and powerful arm. Nothing is too hard for you!” Jeremiah 32:17 NLT
As believers, I presume that we agree that God, Elohim, is the original ultimate Manufacturer. Jeremiah asserts that both Heaven and earth are God’s creation. The earth along with what’s in it, under it, above it, and surrounding it.
When things go wrong, then Elohim is the One to Whom we turn for sorting out the fine print on the warranty. The joy is Elohim offers a lifetime warranty on all creation, so we can always return to God when things go wrong. So, knowing that we can return whatever is broken to our Maker should establish our trust in God. And, since God’s track record is centuries old, I propose we trust God’s way – even for the climate crisis.
Before seeking the Manufacturer’s warranty we are usually encouraged to see whether the user followed standard operating procedures. If yes, the manufacturer is liable, otherwise repairs are at the owner’s expense. Us humans are not quite the owners of our lives or contexts as we are also part of God’s creation. Thus, when there’s an issue with us, even when we are ‘liable’, the Manufacturer still makes repairs on us. There is a cost, but it’s been paid in full by Jesus’ Blood. It’s accrued to Jesus’ account.
That’s partly why it’s easy to recognize God’s sovereignty – we’re still under warranty even though we try to rebel. Ain’t God grand?! So whether it’s life that’s giving us what for, or our own sinful nature, we can revert to Elohim, our Creator, assured that God will honor the warranty God’s way.
