Good morning
Today’s Holy Nougat offers us words to live by.
“I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” John 15:11 NLT
So there was Jesus, about to face the worst. He KNEW what was coming – death was certain. And all because of them; because of us all.
Nevertheless, He knew that they would be bewildered and how painful His depaerture would be. And though those weren’t his final words; Jesus made sure that they counted. For He KNEW that they would need to rehearse them over and over; that you and I would need them today. And so; in anticipation, He began the preparatory work.
‘Stay in My Love’; ‘Don’t worry, I got this’; you believe me, right?’ ‘And, remember always, my love will keep you once you keep me in your hearts.’ I promise, you will soar and be fruitful, when you remain in my love.’
Those are sincerely comforting words!
For when the going gets rough – and it surely does; those are words to live by. We don’t necessarily remember them at all times; but it is an ongoing source of encouragement nevertheless.
And for emphasis, Jesus reminds us; ‘This is the Secret for total Joy.’
Joy then, is to be found when we abide in His love! Christ in us, and us in Him! Knowing we are loved; and basking in the value-added which comes with being loved by Christ.
So let’s not be despondent or afraid; but live – truly live by these words.
