Great news siblings!
I’m in the Internet zone for a bit. So I’m taking advantage of that opportunity to connect. Let’s realize that Y’shua prophesied about a desolation that will impact the entire world. It has implications for us as believers. Consider Today’s Holy Nougat.
Matthew 24:15-18 NIV
[15] “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—
[16] then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.
[17] Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house.
[18] Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.
Head for Safety
Siblings, I can’t speak definitively about the abomination that leads to desolation. But, it is sacrilegious enough that Y’shua deemed it worse than anything the world has ever experienced. Siblings, that means it is worse than Pax Romana, worse than the Crusades, worse than World Wars 1 and 2, worse than the Transatlantic Slave Trade, and worse than the Holocaust. It might even be worse than all those combined. The extent of its impact will be such that the global community will take notice. I suspect it will also generate lots of fear among most of us.

What, if anything, could generate fear for our lives at this time? Will we then look to Y’shua?
Application
Back in the day, learning the Bible was a big deal, especially for children and youth in church schools. I remember prizes being awarded for knowing the order of the books in the Bible, for learning and reciting verses and for completing the reading of a book or books of the Bible. Some children were willing to read all the books, but some didn’t read Daniel or Revelation because they were uncomfortable with the texts. I, for one, feared reading apocalyptic texts. That may have been due to the discomfort it fostered, but I also didn’t understand the mysteries they contained.
Yet, we see Y’shua explaining to His disciples many fearsome things, and that they wouldn’t fully understand. But, the record remains, so that we can understand some of the mysteries. We also can see that Y’shua keeps His Word, and we can hold to His promises.
I believe that while we might not wholly understand all of these End Time prophecies, we can opt to learn these texts for our edification. At this point, we’re not learning for prizes on earth; rather, we are learning to know Christ more, to understand God’s heart, and so that we can recognize the times.
Having studied these texts, it means that when these signs manifest round about us, we need not fear. We turn to Y’shua, our Secret Place, our place of Safety. If we are around at the time of the abomination, we believe that God’s Spirit will instruct us to head for safety, just like Lot and family. For some, this may be bunkers underground, or hills if it includes flooding. Whatever it is, let us already rest in the assurance that God is with us, and obey God without murmur.
Until then, we strengthen our relationship with Christ, yielding to God’s authority and continuing to study God’s Word.

Are we open to familiarising ourselves with God’s Word, for understanding and safety?
