Hello

When we see our fears become reality, despite our obedience to God, what do we do, where do we focus?

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

Didn’t we tell you this would happen while we were still in Egypt? We said, ‘Leave us alone! Let us be slaves to the Egyptians. It’s better to be a slave in Egypt than a corpse in the wilderness!’”

Exodus 14:12 NLT

Yes now, Spanish Town, Moses in TROUBLE!!! Imagine, he brought the Children of Israel out of slavery, only for them to be stuck without food or provision! How irresponsible! I bet they wanted to stone him.

If we choose to read into Israel’s response to Moses in the natural, the commentary above should be close to accurate. But what the former slaves did not know is that, when the Promise Maker is God; we DEFINITELY walk in Faith and not in Fact not Fear.

Fact: They were in the wilderness (aka desert) with gold, but no water or food.

Fact: They were instructed to only take the bare minimum of food with them.

Fact: Days of traveling ON FOOT in the wilderness without water or food = recipe for death or disaster

Fear: They were going to be the laughingstock of Egypt and surrounding nations

Fear: All their sacrifice and obedience was for naught

Faith: God’s got them covered

Faith: God’s directive = recipe for abundance and blessings

Finale: God provided Cordon Bleu meals – manna and quail, pure Spring Water (exclusively from Mt Sinai) – replenished daily, at No Cost

Finale: God took them safely through the Wilderness, after testing their Faith time and again, and into the Promised Land

What if we were to examine our circumstances in light of Fact, Fear, Faith and Finale? Could we find encouragement for our own Wilderness Wanderings? We might not KNOW the exact solution that our God will offer as The Finale; but we KNOW Our God only devises plans which work for our good.

Fact, Fear, Faith, and Finale … let’s keep our focus firmly fixed.

In Christ’s love and grace
