Nougat 27

Published on

Hi have you ever been misjudged by virtue of other persons’ labelling of who they think you should be? How was that experience?

Better yet, have you ever made an assumption and discovered that you were absolutely way off track? Worry not, today’s Holy Nougat may prove full-some for your situation.

But the Lord said to Samuel, “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t see things the way you see them. People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 NLT

One could argue that with his own experience with God, Samuel should not have been so readily taken by David’s older brothers. And yet he was. They were young adults, with some military experience, tall enough and physically strong … The right men for the job.

But they were integrity challenged. Filial loyalty wasn’t necessarily high on their priority listing either. And when faced with the real odds, they lacked vision, yielding to fear and human experience. On the other hand, he whom the Lord had hand-picked was fiercely loyal, was generally marked by integrity, far-sightedness, family oriented, dependent solely on God and jealous for the integrity of God’s reputation among the non-believers. He remained steadfast and unwavering in his belief in God. No wonder, when he cried out time and again; God SURE NUFF showed up and saved the day!

Thus, for the task to which you have been specially called and anointed, YOU are adequately suited to the task. You may not possess the external qualifications, but that’s just the trimming. God equips the Called. Perhaps our real challenge is to determine our response – Moses, Jonah, Gideon or David. Moreover, it’s for us to focus on what God sees; for that’s the heart of the matter.

While the world may deem us unfit for the tasks ahead, if God has declared us worthy, let us walk worthy of that which God has laid upon our spirits in this season.

{whispering “Ignore their expectations, God’s our limit”}

Thanks for joining us in this Divine feast.

In Christ’s love and grace,
