Hi
Have you ever thought of Cain’s story a as amazing reflection on forgiveness? Just think about it for a bit.
Here’s today’s nougat
But the Lord said to him, “Not so. Anyone who touches Cain will suffer vengeance 7 times over.” Then the Lord placed a mark on Cain so that anyone who saw him would not kill him. Genesis 4.15
Wow! The man kills his brother in cold blood, and when he appeals to God; he gets a much lighter sentence! Now that is amazing.
God allowed Cain to accept responsibility for his sin, but he also removed the stigma from Cain which could have made him an instant target for abuse. Our sins deserve the ultimate punishment (even if they were only the little sins!!!) and we deserve the death penalty – just like Cain.
When we acknowledge our sins, God opts to divorce the sin from our records. And although there usually are repercussions from our actions, Jesus’s blood prohibits the devil from closing in on us to claim our souls.
Now that’s amazing, too wonderful for me to imagine!
Hallelujah. Glory to God.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
