Hi there my dear

So last night I turned in earlier than usual for I was bone tired …

I woke up feeling like I hadn’t slept. My brain was fuzzy, and my eyes we wired shut. However I pulled my mind enough to

check the time – I hadn’t even been asleep for a full hour! That explained why I still felt tired. Immediately, today’s Holy Nougat™️ came to mind:

“For everything there is a season and a time for every activity under heaven:”

‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭TLV‬‬

What does it mean to accept that under God’s rule, there is order? To be open to God’s time and seasons? Of course, if we can think of yielding to God’s timing, then the opposite is also possible – ie that we act outside of God’s timing!

Let’s then consider the example that triggered the reflection – when I woke less than an hour after going to bed, it was the time to sleep. Choosing to stay awake would not have increased productivity or creativity, unless God had invited me to be awake for a special reason. On the contrary, returning to sleep (which came instantly), resulted in rest and much needed renewal.

I also noted that if everything has a time and season then even this pandemic is subject to the Will of God. While we know not when, this virus spread has a very finite timeline. And, since we don’t know what that time is, we can pray. For, in our prayer we can appeal for a shift in the order of the virus’ spread; like David did when his folly triggered the ‘historic’ deaths mentioned in 2 Samuel 24. Some things can change if we determine to unite in prayer.

We pray for those infected and the families affected. We pray for God’s healing deliverance amidst the mad rush to find the vaccine. We pray for God’s wisdom to prevail in the heads of political leadership globally. We pray for healing for the vulnerable, especially those who think they have no hope. We pray for God’s intervention in the economies crippled by the pandemic. We pray for those trapped in abusive situations, that they escape safely. We pray for children and youth whose studies have been impacted by the pandemic, that despite this, their academic prowess is not diminished. We pray for jobs. And we pray that Faith conquers Fear.

For if there is a time for every single thing under the sun, then this is most definitely the season for prayer 🙏🏾. Let’s pray

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
