Good morning
How was your week? Did you have some profound God moments? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.” Galatians 1:1 NLT
Upon Whose authority do you operate? Especially if you are not in full time ministry. The truth is, regardless of who our official employers are, ultimate authority comes from God. And that’s the case whether we choose to acknowledge it or not?
That being said, we are thus confronted with the reality that regardless of what currently entails, God’s authority can override our situation. Consider the worst case scenario that could impact us in the workplace – could not our God, Who raised Jesus from the dead, sort it to our best advantage? And, have we a) asked for God’s help; or b) listened for God’s solution? [how about doing that right now?]
The other consideration pertains to us as God’s workers. Paul began his treatise with a declaration of his role as God’s staff. Do we consciously see ourselves in that role (as God’s staff persons)? Even when located in secular contexts? We would benefit from thinking about our approach to work in the moments we don’t ‘feel the vibes’. God desires our best. Every single time.
What if God were to do an audit or performance appraisal right now, how would we measure up? (I know right ouch!)
For faith is not a part time role which we pick up when it suits us. It’s on display for better or worse – us, God & others all the time.
