Hello

Have you ever stopped to analyze the praise which comes from the lips of others? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Long live the king! Daniel 3:9 NLT

Isn’t it funny how sometimes the assurances we make and the reality we face are not always in tandem with each other. For Nebuchadnezzar, the adulation of the crowds indicated that he remained at the center of public attention. In reality, that wasn’t quite the case, as this was the preamble to something much more nefarious.

Upon hearing that phrase , “Long live the King”, Nebuchadnezzar must have felt that he was surrounded by allies. And to some extent, he was. It (the phrase) was the foundation for the lies prepared to trick him into heeding the treacherous plans they were making for Daniel.

Have you ever been party to a similar set of circumstances? Where you or someone you know is being flattered into making some choices which could prove deadly for others? And when our response has not been in the favour of those others, do we try to justify our decision or make amends?

Sometimes, we must make the unpopular vote; and defend the real issues.

May God’s grace be ours, granting discernment amid the lure of other voices.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
