Hello,

Ever wondered how we came to really believe in Christ? Actually, tradition had little to do with it …

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by obeying the law of Moses? Of course not! You received the Spirit because you believed the message you heard about Christ. Galatians 3:2 NLT

If we were to revisit John’s Gospel, we might recall Jesus promising the disciples to send a Comforter/Advocate after His departure. He also assured the disciples that the Holy Spirit would bear witness to God’s truth. And, in Matthew, when Peter recognizes Jesus as The Savior (i.e. the Christ, trans. Messiah), we note Jesus’ response … This revelation is Holy Spirit ‘inspired’ not by human reflections … which suggests that our recognition of Who Jesus is, is a reflection of the Holy Spirit at work in our lives.

Knowing the Word is crucial. It tells us about God at work in the world and recounts the Faith-walk of others before us. However, the Holy Spirit draws us to Christ; deepening our relationship from ‘Knowledge about’ to ‘Walk with’, by revealing the nature of God’s Love and Truth to the depths of our Souls. So we confirm the move of the Spirit of God through the Word, and God’s Spirit opens our hearts to that Truth in our own walk. Let us remenber, we walk by Faith (through God’s Spirit) and not only by Sight (reading God’s Word). We ought to see the Word AND the Spirit as complementary aspects of our God-walk and available to all who believe.

Is it time for a Faith tune-up with the Spirit of God?

May God add insight and grace through the power and interpretation of God’s Spirit.

Thank you for joining us in this Divine feast.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
