In the very direct sense, the world no longer sees Jesus Christ. And yet, many of us as Christians see evidence of Jesus everywhere. In fact, some of us see Jesus in answered prayers or in signs (perhaps of the order of Gideon’s fleece) we identify in life.
I remember once thinking that if I actually saw Jesus materialize before me, I’d probably pass out from shock! Or perhaps I’d outrun Bolt.
How would you respond if you were to see Jesus face to face on this level of eternity? Would it be along the order of multiple confessions of sin currently overwhelming our lives? Or have we already dealt with such, and thus are ready to experience Jesus up close and personal?
Can we then harbor surprise at the mixed responses from the disciples after the Resurrection? Even though they had already been told?
Nevertheless, I look forward to seeing Him some day. I know I’m not the only one…
