Greetings

I trust that we are well and praising whatever our circumstances. Today, even as we prepare to feast on the Word, I wish to invite each of us to identify just one thing for which we give thanks today. And let’s see whether or Thanksgiving mode might alter our perception of our situation.

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

You must worship no other gods, for the Lord , whose very name is Jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you. Exodus 34:14 NLT

Idolatry is a very sticky concept. For, on the one breath, we seek to be good stewards of that which we have been blessed with. But, if we take it to the extreme, we run the risk of focusing undue attention, which often is the first step toward worshipfulness, i.e. idolatry, or making a false god.

Ironically, choosing to thank God despite our situation may help us to avoid idolatry. For in recognising God as Source or Comfort, we find that our focus just might shift from the “created” to Creator.

So, for what do you give thanks today? And how might God’s glory be revealed through our praise.

Have a blessed weekend.

Thanks for joining in today’s Divine feast.

In Christ
