Bless the Lord my dears
Have you given a moment’s consideration as to whether you are divinely positioned for God’s purpose? Perhaps. Perhaps not. Whatever the response, let us remember that we are never outside of God’s coverage or jurisdiction; especially when we are the called by God’s purpose.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
When the Lord saw Moses Coming to take a closer look, God called to him from the middle of the bush, “Moses! Moses!” “Here I am!” Moses replied.
Exodus 3:4 NLT
Even when we think we’re beyond God’s reach, God’s got another think coming for us. Having made his way to the FAR, Far, far side of the wilderness; I suspect that Moses was certain he was beyond God’s attention. After all, he wasn’t near Pharaoh anymore, and so Moses was able to reinvent himself if he so desired. That worked for a while, for out there in the wilderness, he was simply Jethro’s son-in-law, undetected by others (but even then, God KNEW EXACTLY WHERE Moses was camping out).
Like an awesome chess player God got Moses’ attention – the glory of the Lord was revealed to him in a bush burned but didn’t smolder into ashes. (I don’t know whether that would have worked for me, but then I wasn’t charged with the welfare of someone else’s sheep, in the literal sense.) I believe that was Check. And when Moses’ curiosity got the better of him; God called him into partnership … Checkmate!
How has the Lord gotten your attention during your Wilderness wanderings? Each of us has a slightly different testimony, even when we’re coming from what we think is the same place. Ask Jonah, Abram, Hagar, Ruth, or Esther. They’ll tell you about the nuanced differences in their stories.
What is critical similar is the fact of their ultimate response to God. Whether we’re unaware, unwavering or uncaring God’s got a plan for us.
The pieces are/have moved across the Divine chessboard. Regardless of the enemy’s plan, watch what God is doing. Can you hear it.
