When last have you stopped to bless someone? Can you think of the difference it would make?
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the Lord be upon you: we bless you in the name of the Lord . Psalms 129:8 KJV
A lot of things weren’t going right in this lament. And this was the final comment. Unfortunately, this is somewhat typical of humanity when someone undergoes a season of testing. Rather than commiserate or offer assistance, we often walk on by (perhaps out of fear that the testing is contagious).
But what if we took the High Road, what if we determined to be the Good Samaritan?
We might
– Bear witness anew to God’s love and grace to someone who feels forsaken
– Transform someone’s life to the point that the negativity dissipates
– Actually be saving ourselves from becoming immune to the plight of others around us
So, how about it, can we choose to bless someone by word and by deed this week? For God’s sake?
