Nougat 25

During the World Cup series, it is not uncommon to see and hear the vuvuzelas in the bleachers and the stands as spectators cheer their teams on. In some cases, one wonders why. Then out of the blue, things start turning around and the horns are deafening. Is it the vuvuzela that turned things around? I can’t definitively say; but I suspect that the sound of the horns lifted the team’s spirits. Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“After Joshua spoke to the people, the seven priests with the rams’ horns started marching in the presence of the Lord, blowing the horns as they marched. And the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant followed behind them.” Joshua‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

‬‬For many of us, applying God’s Word to our situations or to strongholds is fairly simple. We know the scripture and we can even make the necessary connections between the Word and the stronghold. But we sometimes lose our joy.

And this nougat says we are to operate differently. It invites us to approach the battlefield with the confidence of one who KNOWS that God’s Got us. My take, even prior to this, has been that the blowing of life ram’s horn was the praise-song of victory! Not yet seen; but definitely assured. It would have lifted the spirits of the children of Israel.

So here we are on the fourth day of storming the stronghold. And nothing seems to be happening. That’s alright. Ensure that our praise is constant. Ask your prayer partner to join/lead us in praise despite what we can’t see. God inhabits our praise, it lifts our spirits, and it can also keep us going.

• We remind ourselves of God’s promises anyway.

• We praise in advance anyway

• We keep our counsel; taking it to God

• We walk away having gone around it once

Sometimes, actually most times, winning the battle is not about what we can see; it’s about what we can believe and Who we believe will see us through. It’s not yet time for shouts and victory dances; but it’s definitely time to thank God for the inevitable breakthrough that comes through Jesus Christ.
