Nougat 25

Even today, Jesus remains misunderstood and misrepresented. In today’s Holy Nougat, we remind ourselves why we honor Him.

“You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.” ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It is God Who chose to honor Jesus as the cornerstone. We can’t change that reality. So, let’s not be guilty of overlooking Him and His authority.

I am nowhere near an expert in construction, but I remember hearing a builder explaining that of the cornerstone is removed, or incorrectly positioned, the entire building can collapse. This calls to my memory a building in Jamaica that survived the Port Royal 1907 earthquake. (https://www.uncommoncaribbean.com/…/uncommon…/ ) Originally constructed in the mid-1600s, the Royal Artillery House was critical for the protection of the Fort. The building was still standing after the tremors stopped, but the foundation was impacted as the building had partially sunk. And what seemed balanced prior to 1907, was grossly tilted thereafter.

When life’s quakes come our way, it is critical that we remain steadfast and unwavering, firmly rooted to Christ, our Cornerstone. Then, though there may be titling and inertia, we remain balanced even after the aftershocks are done.

Some of us are still trying to find balance as the tremors continue to test our faith foundation. Remember, Jesus is not only our foundation, He is our Cornerstone. We can overcome. It’s in the Blueprint. The enemy’s quaking cannot and will not take us under! Not when Jesus Christ is our Cornerstone.

We will not be guilty of dishonoring God’s Choice for Cornerstone. Rather, we honor God for choosing Him. Us Jamaicans would say,’ teng Gad fi Jesus!’, will you join me? So when the quakes come we cry out, remaining fixed to Jesus, our Cornerstone.
