Greetings

I wish to dispel a fallacy which often creeps up in our minds. It’s an argument which contends that once we reestablish right relationships with Christ Jesus our problems disappear. One brief conversation with the disciples, with apostle Paul, with David, Moses, Jacob or the children of Israel through the early years would disabuse us of that notion. Here’s a reminder from today’s Holy Nougat

The fact is, trouble SHALL come, but no matter how arrogant (cockaty), no matter how overwhelming the burden; our God is God!

“What god of any nation has ever been able to save its people from my power? So what makes you think that the Lord can rescue Jerusalem from me?”” Isaiah 36:20 NLT

He spoke with the confidence of a winner. As well he should. For this was not just any man, this was The King Sennacherib, Commander-in-Chief of the most advanced and invincible army of the day. This was the ruler of the top superpower in that era. And, one did not acquire such status and reputation by being ‘nice’. Obviously their intimidation tactics had been honed over the years.

Such was the background of Sennacherib who had dispatched his envoy to advise Israel of the planned attack. Rather intimidating, is it not? Enough to make someone quake. And several someone’s did! But; there was one flaw in Sennacherib’s plan.

He dared to assume that YHWH Elohe Tzevaot, (read Lord of hosts), God of Israel would not and could not fight and overcome Sennacherib’s mighty army. He. Was. Dead. WRONG!!!

What/Who is the Sennacherib’sq in our life today? How long have we been tormented by the enemy of our souls? How dare Sennacherib assume our automatic defeat? Obviously, they have not factored in Who it is that fights our battles.

We serve The King of Glory, Lord God Almighty, our Lord mighty in battle! (Psalm 24:8, 10)! We serve YHWH Elohe Tzevaot, Who promises to fight our battles for us when we are willing to be still (Exodus 14:14; Deuteronomy 3:22)! We serve The Living God Who has defeated Death through the resurrection of Jesus Christ and will conquer Death once and for all (1 Corinthians 15:26)! We therefore cannot be disheartened, we cannot give room to fear.

Lord restore our faith in Your power over All creation. Help us trust You to see us through the threat of danger. Hear and forgive, as You go to battle for us we pray, in Jesus name amen

In and for Christ’s love
