Nougat 25

Published on

Hi

As some of you might be aware, I have been challenged by technology for a long season. Recently, thanks to a series of unexpected blessings I was finally thrust into 21st century communication. Ironically, after a few interventions, I managed to retain my former number although the instrument I was using had changed by far. And that is the essence of today’s Holy Nougat

“Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 ASV

You see, for all intents and purposes, everything remained the same; yet every thing had now become different. The 21st century phone was light years away from all other machines I had previously owned. Likewise, the bodies in which we are housed are still the same (earthen vessels). However, Christ’s entry in our lives is like that 21st century upgrade (the treasure we hold in the earthen vessels). So, it is not us who are the treasure; but Christ living in us. And with Christ, there is a newness which is superimposed on our lives and obliterates the old sin nature.

In short, in Christ we become our better (perhaps even our best) selves.

Of course, our humanness dictates that all the changes may not be evident immediately – just as how all the features of a new phone are not always immediately apparent, despite being present at the time of manufacture or purchase.

Maybe our next step could be exploring the new facets of our lives in Christ, just as we would a new phone, tablet or computer. Then we will truly understand the extent to which ALL things have become new in our lives. Selah

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
