What do you make of today’s Holy Nougat? I found myself on a quest.
“Then Jesus left Galilee and went north to the region of Tyre. He didn’t want anyone to know which house he was staying in, but he couldn’t keep it a secret.” Mark 7:24 NLT
I can see them now. A friend is assigned to be the lookout; to say where and when Jesus was sighted. Picture high tech spy tools, disciples looking like an ad for the ‘Men in Black’ movie; not quite realizing that their suits stood out and gave the location away!
Erm ————- not quite.
Nevertheless Tyre was fairly new Jesus territory, so they assumed He would not be easily spotted. Not the case. Not then anyways.
What would Jesus face if He came, in person, today in our community? Based on the attitude of you and others in in your city; would Jesus’s arrival include fanfare or be as low keyed as His arrival in Tyre? And what would His entourage look like; a motley crew of misfits; or a PR team with scheduling assistance?
More critically; would anyone even be interested in meeting Jesus or be receptive to the miraculous? Why/not? And how does our lifestyle influence those around to desire more of Him?
For Jesus IS visiting OUR community today. And there are many in need of His intervention. But first; someone (read you and me) needs to help folks know the nature and person of Jesus Christ. It’s even better when our lives do the talking about Him.
