Those are but some of the international headlines since the beginning of this week! And there’s two days yet. How do we respond beyond feeling overwhelmed or impotent? Today’s Holy Nougat suggests that we get our praise on; can you imagine?
“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.” 1 Chronicles 29:11 NLT
We pause in the midst of all that’s devolving around us and take in the beauty of God’s creation. In so doing, our perspective shifts:
The One Who crafted all these wonders, placed the planets exactly so, and designed each blade of grass; making some for our consumption is greater than we are. No two ways about that! And if That One put it all in place and holds it all together, then just maybe The One is still in control – God is.
And as we marvel at the individuality and wonder of nature, we glorify God and are in awe of God’s majesty. We recognize God’s greatness and are humbled that we get to share in this creative process!
So
Life happens
We’re overwhelmed by the ongoing issues that come at us. But we are alive. (Some of us barely). And today offers one more opportunity to dance in the face of adversity and to help one other person with their own dance. And that’s TWO victories.
And we invite our Victorious Creator, to guide and embrace us as we write on the blank palette of this moment’s objective. And in God’s gracious strength, we find ourselves ready once again for make a difference.
