Hello my dears

Have you ever made the wondrous mistake of trying to figure God out? Not the wisest or easiest course of action. For as soon as we think we have a handle on God’s actions, God’s compassion and glory reveal yet another facet ….

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

Finally, he said to his disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.” John 11:7 NLT

But Lazarus was in Bethany! Not Judea. The chapter begins with word that Lazarus lay sick in Bethany, nigh unto death. Instead of rushing to heal Lazarus, Jesus stays away for two days. Two very long days; for we know in that era to delay was danger or death.

The plot takes a turn for the bizarre when Jesus further delays action by CHOOSING to detour to Judea!

That was not the most direct route to Bethany. Especially since an extended reading of the verses following indicate that when Jesus EVENTUALLY gets to Bethany, Lazarus is dead.

Does this sound like the story of your life? You’re inundated with trouble without and within, and rather than come to your rescue, Christ chooses to delay intervention for a while!

The Good News is this, Delayed Intervention does not mean Denied Intervention. It could be a matter of Faith building or life beyond death. And since that decision rests with God not us, we may need to redirect our lives to God’s ways.

So

How shall we go forth henceforth?

Thanks for joining in this Divine feast

In Christ
