Adversity comes in many faces. However, we who are called by his name have a Living Hope and a call to share that hope with others. Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“After the people of that place recognized him, they sent word throughout the region and brought all who were sick to him,” Matthew 14:35 NRSV
Another gospel adds that wherever He went, people brought the sick on their mats and begged that they might touch the fringes of his coat! The sick were taken , not necessarily asked if they wanted to go. That’s others’ faith at work for the suffering. This was in Gentile territory!
Why do you think Jesus was recognized in that Gentile town – was it from a previous healing? Or had a few disciples gone ahead and leaked the story about His presence in town?
To whom do we gossip about Jesus? What do we say about Him?
Are folks aware that He IS in our lives, or is He incognito? (Remember tho that Jesus is the celebrity, not us and He’s already in our lives) If it so, that He is incognito, is it time for a celebrity sighting?
How might we bring the sick or the broken to Jesus these days? (It’s easier now than then)! Whachu waiting for – let’s do this!!!
