Hi

A few weeks ago, I passed a beauty supplies shop (the exclusive kind), and a sales rep invited me to try samples. It worked, I loved the product; although I still haven’t accomplished what she did in the demo. But based on her invite, I assumed she knew what she was doing, I placed my face in her hands, I liked what I saw, so I bought her product.

On Saturday last, I had a conversation with an accountant. I had just met her, and was ready to ask her some basic financial questions. It was automatic, I didn’t stop to ask for proof of her qualifications beyond our conversation. And while I was not handing my non-existing portfolio to her, I was willing to take her word that she was who she said she was. And based on our conversation, had I need of basic accounting services in Geneva I was willing to place my affairs in her hands.

All on the basis of one meeting!

And for those ready to scoff at me, think about the people whom we trust based on someone else‘s recommendation. We ask recommendations for food, masks, places to visit on a vacation, hotels, tech tools, doctors, school services, churches … and the list goes on. We usually think nothing of doing so unless we’ve had a bad experience or two.

So, if we can trust our little details to the recommendations of others, or based on their sales pitch in an interview or ad, shouldn’t we be just as willing and able to trust Jesus and put everything in His hands?

According to today’s Holy Nougat, He comes highly recommended –

“The Father loves his Son and has put everything into his hands.” John 3:35 NLT

So if everything is in his hands, I dare say there’s nothing outside of his jurisdiction – not even you or me. What is required next may be to determine the extent to which we believe that, and then live what we believe. For if we truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God, (aka the Father) then we can yield to His direction.

If not, then it’s easy – just carry on.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
