Hi my dear
Has your experience with Covid-19 felt like being in the wilderness with nothing but sheep? Have you felt a bit separated from God recently? Then today’s Holy Nougat may be for you.
“There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a blazing fire from the middle of a bush. Moses stared in amazement. Though the bush was engulfed in flames, it didn’t burn up.” Exodus 3:2 NLT
My peeps, did you notice?
Moses; the chosen, imperfect, backslidden man of God; had an amazing encounter with God right there in the wilderness! Him, with his stinky, shepherd self is ushered into God’s presence as he was. (Moses had no idea he was going to meet God that day, so it’s safe to assume he was smelly). Yet our perfect God delighted in initiating that crucial conversation.
How awesome is that?
What is even more amazing, is that we can substitute our own selves into this equation and it is just as real for us –
God desires to meet us right where we are! With all of our sinful, sweaty, stinky selves. Yup. God is excited about connecting with each of us, no matter our circumstances.
And sometimes, as with Moses, God uses extreme measures to get our attention. Who knows how many times God sought Moses’ attention prior to the burning bush? Who knows how many times God has sought our attention prior to this season? But for whatever reason, we didn’t (or couldn’t or maybe even wouldn’t) respond. Is God seeking our attention right here in our wilderness today?
How shall we respond?
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
