Would you believe that this is the final week In August? Time surely is scampering away. It feels like only yesterday Lent was approaching. How have you been maximising your time?
Here’s today’s nougat.
He answered and said, “Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire and they have no hurt, and the form of the fourth is like that of the Son of God. Daniel 3.25
Nebuchadnezzar, mighty king of Babylon, the ruler of the then civilized world, was not a believer in the Hebrew God. In fact, many would contend that the only god he worshipped was himself. And he was powerful enough tongue others to do that same. So much so, that folks were obliged to bow before him at the sound of their Babylonian praise songs.
3 young men defied him. They remained insistent in their worship, despite the position of power which made their actions or non-action immediately visible to those who opposed them. The result; they immediately became “Hot Property”. So hot that others got singed sticking them in the furnace.
Where did the 4th man appear from? Could it be that it was the Son of God? If so, then where is God during our season of unwelcome persecution when we’re standing for him????
I believe it was the Son of God and not just an angel. I KNOW the Triune God is with us when we become “Hot Property”. We might feel the flames licking at us, but we can break forth in praise; for God is with us.
