Bless the Lord o my peeps, and with every breath we have, let us praise the Lord.

Despite the storms of yesterday evening, the sun is shining; for the presence of the Lord is with us here.

Let’s savor today’s nougat, June 24

Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So, when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer In the place where he was. Jn 11:5-6

Say what? Because Jesus loved Lazarus, he waited to go visit him! Knowing Lazarus was sick unto dying?!

That does not compute in the natural. When someone is in a crisis, that is the time God ought to be showing up. Yet John justifies Jesus’s delay by saying the delay was an act of love!

Could it mean that when we are in the midst of our crises unto death, that delay doesn’t mean God has abandoned us? Wow!!! That challenges us to change our perspective. To consider that God’s Love TRANSCENDS the sting of death. That when we are faced with the shadows, God’s seeming inaction might be an act of love. Restoration is more effective, more noticeable on the dead than on the dying.

󾠔 When we feel like going under,

Part the waters Lord

When we feel the waves surround us,

Calm the seas,

When we cry for help please heart us Lord

And hold out Your hands

Touch our lives,

till the raging storms be still!

Lord, it is easy for us to feel forsaken and assume that you don’t care. May these verses today Be reassurances of your love, of your presence amidst our traumatic seasons.

We give our burdens to You, our concerns, our joys; knowing You are faithful, knowing you are with us, knowing you Love us. Teach us how to love You in return. In Jesus’s name amen.
