Did you realize that sometimes when we are conflicted, it’s because our spirits are not aligned with God’s purpose? Consider today’s Holy Nougat And chew very slowly
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” II Timothy 1:6-7 NKJV
Can you believe it – we can each have a spiritual gift from God! At least, for those of us who seek it. Interestingly enough, Timothy is encouraged to fan the gift into flame. That suggests to me that although we are in possession of the gifts, the full manifestation comes with exposure, just as a spark needs oxygen to flourish.
And while praying about our gift is important, the reminder about fearlessness suggests that our goal is use of the gift.
I believe that the gift is not far removed from our calling. And with that, it is easier to walk fully and confidently into all God has called us to be. So I guess the big question is; how have we been at fanning the gifts? Have we allowed our spirits to be tainted by the sense of rejection, powerlessness, and confusion which is a clear attack on our mind and spirit.
Today I urge us to fight back …
Beginning with a request to God to tell us what the gift is; or to remind us if we somehow forgot
Seeking confirmation that the gift is a manifestation from God
Committing fears to God, for overcoming
By prayerfully seeking opportunities to use the gift … now
Today today!
I pray that our spiritual lives are strengthened by our availability.
