Nougat 24

Published on

Sometimes it is hard to remember that We are called to call others. For if we found something worthwhile in our Faith, we ought to share with others. Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“And the people of Berea were more open-minded than those in Thessalonica, and they listened eagerly to Paul’s message. They searched the Scriptures day after day to see if Paul and Silas were teaching the truth.” Acts of the Apostles 17:11 NLT

Sharing the Gospel, then and now, can prove challenging. Not everyone is receptive to the Good News, as it often challenges us on multiple levels; and asks the hard questions we’d rather ignore. Of course, when the Word is shared away from our base, the response impacts ust a bit differently. We might not be known, creating a potential barrier in our communication.

Such was Paul’s experience prior to the Berea visit. In fact, prior verses speak to desecration of property AND of their characters. It must have been a relief for them to arrive in Berea, and discover far more receptive group. Actually those Bereans seemed hungry for nee perspectives on God’s Word.

Of course, the Bereans hunger also suggests that we are equipped with the necessary material to satisfy their hunger. That is, we MUST be rooted and grounded in the Word of God, fully attuned to God’s Spirit and open to a conversation with others (rather than only preaching at them).

So, what next?

We invite God’s direction for how, when and where to share the Word.

Prepare ourselves by getting familiar with the Word and what it means for us

Ask God’s revelation for the contextualization of God’s Word for our audience

And Mostly,

Live our Faith Boldly wherever we are.

Doable? Absolutely

May all we seek be found in Christ
