It’s one thing to know the Source of our power, and that the glory is due. However, we should also try to find out more about the power. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:20-21‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

Amen! Let it be so.

Let it be that God’s Spirit, the Power within, is TRULY able to do with us and for us that which God in God’s Spirit has purposed for us without too much blockages from us. For sometimes, God’s Spirit is ready and raring to move and we’re our own stumbling blocks.

Can we pause for a quick minute to invite God, our Creator to reveal any self-designed blockages and remove them permanently from our lives?

What God, through God’s Spirit seeks to do with and through us goes beyond our wildest imagination and extends past our expectations. We CANNOT do it in our own strength; by our own charisma; or even barter, purchase or steal it. This is God’s dynamic (life giving and mind blowing) power at work. Just think, the Power that spoke Creation into being desires to fulfill the Plan for each of us by taking us to a level that is beyond our finite selves.

So here are TWO questions for us

1) Do we have a clue of what our Best Lives should look like with God at the helm?

For if we don’t, then we haven’t even started to figure out what to imagine or ask of God. In Isaiah 7; King Ahaz was under attack. And though he was a bit outside God’s grace in our minds; God had a plan for saving him AND Israel. But Ahaz wasn’t in the place to think what his best life could be with God at the helm. So much so, that when invited BY God to seek a sign; Ahaz wasn’t able to comply.

2) Are we yet living our Best Lives with God as yet?

Despite, rather in spite of Ahaz; God gave him a sign beyond his wildest imagination! And weird as it seems; that signaled the beginning of his (and our) best life.

When God is working through God’s Spirit within; we experience a transformation that is nigh unto Saul turned Paul. We experience life differently; even when we undergo trials. The crises can/will come); but we are able to do and be much more than our ordinary selves can.

So, here is the litmus test

When we consider our life’s journey and work; especially for the year to date – what have we truly accomplished that demonstrates God’s Spirit within? (It may be as straightforward as leading someone to the knowledge of Christ as Savior, manifesting a spiritual gift, or even walking in God’s purpose on purpose).

To what extent was God prioritized in this? How much was our own strength?

If God seeks to abundantly accomplish far more than we can ASK or IMAGINE, we ought to be able to spot it when it happens. And when it does happen, then it’s time to begin imagining and asking God for more.

Perhaps it’s time to Ask God to complete the work God has begun through God’s power at work within us.

What a difference that would be in the world!

May all we seek be found in Christ
