Today’s Holy Nougat
requires some slow chewing and perhaps a choice
“For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.” John 1:17 NLT
Although the Law is important, we are being reminded that Jesus is the total embodiment of God’s grace. And, with God’s grace being extended in advance of our acceptance, there is ample reason to celebrate.
Consider:
#God creates the earth and galaxies; filling them with ALL we need for survival
#Establishing the ‘perfect’ conditions, God creates humanity, gifting them with the earth as habitat and inheritance
#Additionally, humanity is gifted with creative knowledge – like God, but not supreme
#With the creative gift come naming and choice – a potentially dangerous combination as there is no guarantee that humanity will choose to yield to God
#A faltering humanity loses sight of what is important in favor of dominion (and still continues to do so) – over others, creation and even the earth which sustains life in fullness.
#This choice destroys the balance God has provided – humanity is unable to exist in the perfect environment. Devastation, Destruction and Death are the order of the Day (Paradise Lost!)
#Nevertheless, God still loves humanity with an everlasting love and provides Plan B, C, and C’; while providing essentials for survival.
#Although removed from paradise, more clarity is offered through rules and revelation (Plan
. Regardless, humanity pursues domination and destruction
#Humanity is not quite God, and cannot fully fix the problems created. God becomes human (Jesus is Plan C) to redeem humanity to our birthright (Plan C’).
#Being the incarnation of God and the manifestation of God’s love, Jesus is the ideal Savior (Christus), and prepares humanity for accepting the redemption plan
Again humanity has the choice – Dominion or Redemption – which do we choose? Do we share our choice with others?!
