As the conflict in the Middle East intensifies, many of us are quickly realizing that lines are being drawn in the sand, in the air, and on the seas. How shall we respond? What is the message we offer in these times? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat.
Luke 21:13 AMP
[13] This will be a time and an opportunity for you to testify [about Me].
Blessed Opportunity
While we wonder about what to call the surge in hostilities in the Middle East, ‘Rome is burning’. (Not literally, thank God, I’ve only borrowed the phrase). There is reason, therefore, to look at how times and seasons are described in Scripture. Biblical time reflects consecutive minutes, hours, days, weeks, and even years. It also speaks to the ‘and suddenly’ moments. There is also mention of opportune moments, that is, those times when we see or seize the chance as it arises. Such are referred to as kairos moments. It’s about reading the signs of the times and acting with wisdom in response.
Self-Check
What time do we recognize from our vantage point?
Application
Siblings, we are called to recognize this time and season. Not only is it important to see that the reform of Christ is near, but it is even more important to recognize that we’re called to testify of Who Christ is. What is our understanding of Christ in the Bible? Of Whom shall we testify? Siblings, let’s understand that we are called to preach Christ, and him crucified. What would Christ say about all that’s happening today?
Folks, our task is to understand and prayerfully respond to what is happening round about us. We must have a word for those searching for loved ones among the rubble. We must have a word for those who’ve become refugees because of wars waged by principalities and powers of this day. We must have a word for those craving food… literal and spiritual, and battling hunger. We must have a word for those traumatized by the threat of yet another war, yet another relocation, and yet another onslaught of violence.
And while the Word is Jesus, we must know *how* to deliver the Word to a broken, hurting, hungry, and fearful people.
May we find the grace and courage to live for the Word in these times.

May all we seek be found in Christ
