Earlier this past week, I was listening to music recorded by Jamaican dancehall artistes who have become Christians in the last 16 – 20 years. In some cases, their decision to remain in the industry and perform for Christ was room for opposition from others Christians. Has your past ever been brought your before you? How have we treated those whose journey to Christ has included unconventional stops along the way? What if someone’s unique call to ministry reflects a vast difference from our culture, do we shun them and leave them for dead? Or, do we prayerfully discern where it is that they are called to minister? Remember, we all have been called by God for good works in Christ Jesus, so each of us has the potential to be called by the Lord.
May our lives be that fifth Gospel which everyone wishes to read.
