Nougat 24

Hi

For what do you take responsibility? And, would you die for a cause? Some marinade sauce to accompany today’s Holy Nougat™

And all the people yelled back, “We will take responsibility for his death—we and our children!” Matthew 27:25 NLT

Several years ago, Jamaica was at a standstill. One of our more prominent persons of interest was due to be extradited to the USA. This met with severe opposition from his hometown. One of the placards read,

Jesus died for us.

We will die for Don-Man (with Don’s name boldly proclaimed)

I recall being disgusted at their boldness yet also intrigued by their devotion. For, here we have a similar pronouncement; except this time, Jesus was the fugitive who was denied “justice” to facilitate the release of a Don. And, while they were willing to have the burden of their actions being imputed upon the lives of innocent children; the VERY MAN whom they/we condemned, was TAKING ALL OUR GUILT upon himself.

Now that’s s cause worth following!!! I’m so relieved that Jesus opted to take on my sins, your sins, past sins present sins; even those not yet committed. But more than that, because Christ was willing to lay it on the line by hanging from a tree; there’s forgiveness for the suicide bomber or Don-Man, or whomever we would consider to be the vilest of sinners (feel free to insert your name or mine for the vilest of sinners).

Is it too much to ask that we uphold justice for all, and that we broadcast the extremely great news to the whole world? And if you need help to figure a starting point, begin with “For God so loved…”

Thanks for joining in this Divine feast

Yours in Christ’s service
