“The Lord GOD has put his Spirit in me, because the LORD has appointed me to tell the good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort those whose hearts are broken, to tell the captives they are free, and to tell the prisoners they are released.” Isaiah 61:1 NCV
So here’s the chew
Are we aware that the Spirit of God is upon us, or do we believe that only special people are gifted in that way?
For, if we know that God’s Spirit is upon us, isn’t it time to do things differently? To move in faith as per the Spirit’s leading and direction?
And if we don’t have God’s Spirit, are we truly content to bounce around outside of God’s real purpose for our lives?
My dears, we are living in serious times, and the virus IS a concern, but not the only concern. These are times when God’s people MUST regroup to discern our individual and collective way forward.
When every rumor and revelation abounds, we must know a) what God’s Word says to us and just as/more critically b) what God intends for us to be and do in response.
When panic is the order of the day, we stand on the knowledge that the Spirit of God does not seek panic for us as believers. Rather, by and through the Spirit’s anointing, we are equipped with boldness; love, power and a sound mind. No room for panic. There’s serious and urgent work to be done.
So, if we are walking in purpose on purpose, whose lives are we impacting in this season? How? And if not, it’s not too late as yet to seek God’s face to determine our purpose. There’s zero room for back bench in the house Church. On the contrary, there’s work for each of us, you and me’
A quick reminder, the enemy of our souls hasn’t taken vacation. Neither can we! It’s time to be God’s difference in a broken, dying world. By God’s Spirit we can do this, wherever we are, right now.
