Blessed thanksgiving everyone!

For many in the USA, Thanksgiving trumps Christmas. This year, I’m choosing to make gratitude my focus. And on that note … I thank God for each of you who receives these reflections. You have added a new dimension to my life at a time when I needed a different perspective. Thank you!

And now, here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:7 NIV

Ever had a “Yuh see mi dying trial” moment? When you are wholly convinced that the situation which faces you definitely has presented itself to try you, or even kill you? [Nope. Not one of the times when you can imagine any positive outcome. Not at all] The one which could drive you to hit? Yes. Those days. Ever been through even one?

Now that you are on the other side of it (hopefully you are on the other side of such a moment) what do you recall about your response? And can you find even one positive nugget to redeem it as worthwhile? In retrospect, where was the silver lining of grace, hope or love to penetrate the clouds of frustration, doubt and/or fear? Could you summon a ‘Father God, help!’ or a “Lord I praise you despite …”, maybe just ‘Jesus!’ in response? If so, how’d that response affect your outlook?

Perhaps these came to refine us, but definitely, we can choose praise, even BEFORE we are able to see Jesus at work in our circumstances. Teach us Lord, really teach us Lord, how to praise!’

Thank you for your continued support and reflection on the Word with me.

In Christ
