Have you been following the news recently? Unless I’m mistaken, no matter where you are right now the local/regional news has enough to send us to prayer. Can we agree to be intentional about praying/interceding for our nations in the next few days? Thanks.

In the middle of the last century, polio was still a problem and concern in Jamaica. While I’m not certain about the full details of the disease, I still recall the corrective prostheses (which incidentally looked like they were screwed into the feet) which made their disability visible to others.
Somehow I also remember what seemed to me to be their mobility challenges, despite the prosthetic support, and thinking to myself that life would be very hard if they lived in the hills.
A straight, flat path made their gait easier. Their limps were less noticeable. In fact, with therapy (and possibly surgery), some have been able to live without the prosthesis.
As children of God, we have all needed prosthetic support for our journeys. And Jesus Christ has already straightened out path. Might I encourage us to consider Peace as the support we need? Can we just imagine the difference a soft answer could make in a world where everyone seems stressed and angry? I am sure that it would go a long way in strengthening us, and more so, in preventing/reducing some of the issues playing out in our contexts.
For those of us who’ve mastered the ability to walk in peace at all times, (and I say hats off to you!!!) we might wish to take Love and Prayer as our walking stick. For we may need to occasionally help a sister or brother who’s having challenges with their walk. And before we scoff; remember
Love covers a multitude of sins

As Jesus Christ straightens our way, let us choose the be the change the world needs today.
