Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to release You, and power to crucify You?” Jesus answered, “You would have no power at all over Me, unless it were given to you from above. Therefore he who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.” John 19:10-11
So we digested the power and authority interplay, recognising that Pilate really had no power. Moreso, we savoured our knowledge of our power source. Acts 1.8 and Matthew 28.18 assures us that it’s all Jesus Christ. To God be the glory
But, what about when we intentionally seek ill for one of God’s own? King Saul’s nemesis, David, was a man after God’s own heart and after defeating Saul’s troops told his soldier, “Touch not the Lord’s anointed.”
Furthermore, we recognize that there’s a sin penalty attached. It is essential that our actions are not against God’s chosen. Let us check ourselves.
