Greetings

For many it’s a holiday weekend. For all Christians who celebrate, it’s Pentecost weekend. Happy birthday church.

Today’s nougat, May 23

The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know and recognize Him. But you know and recognize Him, for He lives with you and will be in you. Jn 14:17

Jesus’s promise of the Comforter does not insist on the speaking of tongues, rather the Holy Spirit provides Truth, and lives with and in us.

What then would it look like for us to live as ones who KNOW the Holy Spirit? Would we, as witnesses to the Truth, act any differently? Would we take God more seriously, love more tenderly, forgive more readily?

And what is that Truth which we know? And are we willing to share that knowledge so the world could begin to understand?

The Holy Spirit is the One who urges us to live according to God’s word, who releases us from the bondage of sin, based on our confession of Jesus Christ as our Savior.

I’m grateful for the assurance that when we believe, the Holy Spirit is with us, for I know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that it is the Holy Spirit who’s sustained us and our faith in Jesus. Tongues and the other gifts of the Holy Spirit are important, but let’s affirm the Holy Spirit’s presence in our lives as we find freedom in God’s Truth.

In your sweet pace dear Lord, Please affirm your presence in our lives.

Wa wa wa Emimimo, come now Holy Spirit come. Come fill the vast empty spaces of our lives. Thank You for being willing to live in us upon our confession of Jesus as our Lord. Amen
