Hello my dears
So yesterday we considered the implications of playing consultant to God. Unfortunately, that’s not the only way in which we – by our actions – van offend God. In fact, sometimes, our decision to advise God on how to order our lives is grounded in our lack of faith. Hmmmn, lack of faith eh.
Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Jesus immediately reached out and grabbed him. “You have so little faith,” Jesus said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14:31 NLT
When we begin to determine what God is capable of (or not), we run the risk of doubting God. It might not begin as a conscious thought, but sometimes manifests as “Plan B”/Just in Case, quiet resignation, or panic when we realize that we’re ‘walking on water’.
Strange as it sounds, that’s when a quick “Lord have mercy” just might suffice. For, in uttering those words, we once again place our focus on God, and remove control from ourselves. And I assure you, when we relinquish control, no doubt about it, God comes through and saves us.
So, are you about to drown in your current situation? Are you having trouble focusing on solutions to whatever ails you? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Perhaps it’s time to shift focus … from the Situation (whatever it is) to the Saviour Jesus.
I guarantee, he’s better than money in the bank.
Dear Lord
You know is right well, for you are our Light and Salvation. You know us right well, for you are our Strength and Creator. We re-invite you into our circumstances today. Forgive our past doubts and fears and deliver us dear Lord. Have mercy right now, daddy Jesus, take control.
Hear and intervene dear Lord we pray, in Jesus’s name, amen.
Thank you for joining in this Divine feast.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
