I confess. I have entertained serious doubts about people’s manifestation of God’s Spirit. True, there are charlatans out there, but we can’t condemn all acts of spirituality on the basis of a few bad uns. Nor did God hire me as the spiritual gifts police. Like you, I’m called to be discerning, but the final judgement is God’s. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.” 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 NLT

Although we may have accepted this already, I reiterate – God’s Spirit may be manifested in different ways in different people. We’re told that Jesus Christ and John the Baptist were earthly cousins, and whether we accept that or not, we KNOW that they were both anointed by God to ministry.

Yet these two were as different as can be. One was rough as unfinished wood; the other not quite as unpolished. John’s anointing led him to the wilderness and a vegan lifestyle; Jesus’ anointing subdued the wilderness within and calm the seas without. While we don’t know all the spiritual gifts John operated in; we know he spoke prophetically. Jesus healed, prophesied, performed multiplier miracles and even restored life to the dead.

I dare suggest that because we serve the same Lord, it IS God’s Spirit Who works with us and within us. And if ever the world needs to be inundated with the move of God’s Spirit; it is now. And that’s where you and I come in. We have the opportunity to be the difference; whether in the wilderness or without.

So will we go forth manifesting God’s Spirit wherever we are; making sure that the people in our sphere of influence are impacted? The choice is ours. God’s Spirit has long been ready.
