Nougat 23

Blessings saints

How was your weekend? Restful? Did you do anything to shift someone’s perspective? Or did someone shift yours?

Here’s today’s Holy Nougat ™

Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise. Hebrews 10:23 NLT

Can you remenber the last promise God made to you? How about the last one God kept? Is that any better?

The one which comes readily to my mind, is that Jesus will be with me ALWAYS. I can’t speak for others, but I’ve definitely felt His presence with me. The thing is, sometimes we have to remind ourselves of what God, our covenant God, has done and is doing for us. Whatever it is though, as long as it falls within God’s will, the Yes is there.

I believe that we worry and waver when the timeline we’ve mentally (or literally) set is coming to its natural conclusion and the Lord seems to be on vacation. I know that’s happened to me before. And don’t forget, being impatient with God cost Saul a kingdom.

So how do we counteract the blahs and not waver?

  • Remind ourselves of who God is … Nothing is too great for God, not is God a liar.
  • Remind ourselves of God’s promises … All things work together for the good of God’s children
  • Remind ourselves of who we are in Christ … We are the righteousness of God and those who are called the Children of God
  • Remind ourselves that God’s holiness affects how we receive … God’s ways aren’t always understandable (God’s thoughts aren’t ours)
  • Remain steadfast … Having placed our situation in God’s hands water it with prayer, don’t try to solve it (remember Saul)
  • Give thanks for God’s outcome … When we can praise God in Job’s does, we’re on the right track
  • Request support from a trusted intercessor … Two can chase ten thousand and God confirms the prayer of agreement
  • Relax, Rest and Resist (the urge to worry), God’s got this.

May you find strength to hold on amid these reminders.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
