Gooooood morning
Blessings and grace to you! It’s a new day, filled with new mercies and an abundance of hope, no matter how many hours have passed. The joy of the day is that it isn’t even by our own strength. Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“In the same way, the Ruach helps in our weakness. For we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Ruach Himself intercedes for us with groans too deep for words.
Who is the one who condemns? It is Messiah, who died, and moreover was raised, and is now at the right hand of God and who also intercedes for us.” Romans 8:26, 34 TLV
Isn’t it an awesome feeling to know we are prayed for – by God’s own Son AND God’s Spirit?! To realize that when our words fail, we have an Advocate, Who doesn’t read us our Miranda rights – ‘you have the right to remain silent’ – but instead finds the words FOR us to pray us over our prayer hurdles.
And so in those moments we are afraid, ashamed or just are too overwhelmed dear Spirit of God, thanks for being our voice. We know that when You pray for-with us, the prayer is within God’s will, so it is well. Help us not to grumble or be disappointed at the outcome when it is contrary to our expectations. Thank You for taking our welfare so seriously. We truly appreciate You, despite what our words and actions say. May our lives honor You whenever and wherever we are, we pray in Jesus name amen
Now that we’ve thanked God’s Spirit for being our Advocate, we turn our thoughts to our other intercessor, Jesus. Our Big Brother. And although my cousin-big brother migrated while I was still a child, I vaguely remember that the bulk of responsibility was placed on his shoulders. Can you see Jesus taking similar responsibility for us? Awesome, isn’t it?
My current big brothers (in love) spoil me rotten. Them alongside my sisters! When they are around, I genuinely feel protected and defended, regardless of the situation. As human brothers, I sometimes frustrate them, I’m sure, yet I know they have my back.
Our actions perhaps have the potential to frustrate Jesus; yet the Word for us today is, regardless of our actions Jesus the Messiah – Our Eternal Big Brother – has strategically placed Himself at the position of Greatest Favour with God, in such a way that His petitions for leniency preceded the consequences (wages) of our sin! Jesus has our backs! He prays for us even now.
Loving and gracious Jesus; we are so blessed to have You for our Eternal Big Brother. Thanks for negotiating our forgiveness so many times and for loving us. Help us to pray for others who frustrate us, to see them as You see us. Today dear Jesus, remind us of Your non-condemning love, that returns prayer for annoying behaviors we pray amen
Abba, thanks for the gift of Jesus and of Your Spirit to keep us going. May our actions today be pleasing to You, and when not, help us to acknowledge and repent of our sins willingly. Hear and sustain us we pray in Jesus name amen
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
